School Quality Report: A Look at Our Progress

On Monday, October 28, the DC Public Charter School Board released a 2019 School Quality Report for each of the schools it oversees.

We’re pleased that the overall score for Creative Minds rose by nearly five percentage points over the score from last year—from 55.4% in 2018 to 59.7% in 2019. CMI remains a Tier 2 school, at the higher end of the ranking.

Other highlights include growth in the Student Progress and Student Achievement categories, showing improvement in CMI students’ scores on the PARCC assessments. The percentage of 3rd-grade students reading on grade level has more than doubled since 2018.

This year’s School Quality Report was the first to evaluate our entire program, from preschool through 8th grade. We promoted our first class of 8th-graders in June 2019.
