Reenrollment Process

To retain their space at Creative Minds for the 2020–21 school year, returning families must complete the reenrollment process by June 15, 2020.

If you’re a Creative Minds parent or caregiver who is newly enrolling the sibling of a current student, please see our Enrollment Process page.

Note that the reenrollment process is different from the submission of our Intent-to-Return form in February. Returning families must reenroll, using one of the options below, to retain their spots at Creative Minds.

How to Reenroll

Families have two options for reenrolling: online or by submitting hard-copy documents.

Reenroll Online

Online reenrollment happens through PowerSchool. On Friday, April 10, we sent information about signing in to returning families via email. If you did’t receive this email, please contact us at frontdesk@creativemindspcs.org or (202) 588-0370.

Follow these steps to reenroll:

  1. Sign in to PowerSchool.
  2. From the left column, select FORMS.
  3. Complete the forms.
  4. Upload required documents, such as proof of residency. Note that the health forms are due by the first day of school.
  5. Complete reenrollment by securely signing the DC residency-verification form and the Creative Minds reenrollment form online, via DocuHub. Two to three days after submitting forms and documents, check your email for a message about signing these forms.

If you don’t receive a DocuHub email within two to three days, please check your Spam or Junk folder. If you don’t find an email there, please contact us at frontdesk@creativemindspcs.org or (202) 588-0370.

If you do not have access to PowerSchool, and you would like to reenroll online, please email frontdesk@creativemindspcs.org or call (202) 588-0370.

Reenroll by Mail or Email

To reenroll by mail or email, download and print our reenrollment packet. Or contact Creative Minds and request that the packet be mailed to you: frontdesk@creativemindspcs.org or (202) 588-0370.

The packet contains all the forms and instructions that you’ll need to reenroll. A Spanish-language version of the reenrollment packet will be posted to this page by April 15, 2020.

Mail delivery to Creative Minds has been delayed because of the COVID-19 closure and the school’s location on the campus of the Armed Forces Retirement Home.

Please mail your completed forms and copies of your supporting documents to Heather Hesslink, our director of operations and compliance, at the address on page 1 of your reenrollment packet.

You may also scan the forms and documents and email them to frontdesk@creativemindspcs.org. We are not accepting paperwork in person while school is closed.

Help with Reenrollment

Our Enrollment Saturday event, scheduled for April 25, has been canceled. Instead, we’re offering reenrollment support via one-on-one video meetings, email, or phone.

Please contact us at frontdesk@creativemindspcs.org or at (202) 588-0370 with any questions or to schedule an online video meeting.

Pursuant to The D.C. School Reform Act of 1995 (Sec 38-1802.06) as amended, enrollment in public charter schools is open to all students who are residents of the District of Columbia, and if space is available, to non-resident students who pay tuition at the rate established by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education.

Penalty for False Information

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), a Federal law, requires that Creative Minds International Public Charter School, with certain exceptions, obtain your written consent prior to the disclosure of personally identifiable information from your child’s education records. However, Creative Minds International Public Charter School may disclose appropriately designated “directory information” without written consent, unless you have advised the LEA to the contrary in accordance with LEA’s procedures. The primary purpose of directory information is to allow the Creative Minds International Public Charter School to include this type of information from your child’s education records in certain school publications.

If you do not want Creative Minds International Public Charter School to disclose directory information from your child’s education without your prior written consent, you must notify the LEA in writing by filling out the form provided by the School in the Welcome Packet and returning it on the first day of school in the fall of 2020.
